D&A was established in 1985 as a Commercial General Contractor and Construction Project Management Firm. We specialize in new construction, additions, interior and exterior renovations, historic preservations, multifamily residential and new “Green Building” technology. D&A excels in specialty projects and is proud to serve the retail, commercial, government, health care, institutional and industrial sectors throughout the Washington D. C., Maryland, and Virginia region.

Design Building.

D&A is fully present and accountable for every part of the construction process starting from the very first day.  The initial Client meeting is essential in establishing the goals and direction of the project. Client interaction starting at the conceptual design or budgeting process through completion, orientation and turnover; D&A is actively contributing to a successful mission. The ability to make informed and evaluated project decisions is fundamental to our project's success.All information must have a clear and attainable goal towards the overall project. We accomplish this with an experienced, multi-disciplinary staff and current technology.  

Our team is made up of the Client, Design, Management, Productions and Trade/Vendor Partners.  The team meets at the outset of each project to review strategy, budget and timelines and coordinate a project plan accordingly. We believe in utilizing a diverse team approach for all phases of a construction project. The concept of team cooperation allows individuals to attain success through the group’s overall success rather than individual performance.

Consulting & Construction Management.

D & A has developed an internal Project Team concept for managing projects. This allows us to provide the client with a group of highly qualified individuals who participate at various levels for the duration of the project. D&A has been in business for over 35 years without a claim or onsite lost time injury. Attention to client needs and safety of the project keeps everyone free to focus on quality and facilitates a smooth completion.

Construction Management is the professional application of proven management techniques to monitor and control the time, cost and quality of construction projects from the conceptual to the post-construction phases. D & A has a history of providing outstanding Construction Management and Cost Engineering services to a variety of clients on a wide range of construction projects.  D & A's involvement throughout the design and construction process has resulted in consistently accurate cost estimates and schedules, and a significantly reduced number of change orders.

Minimizing business interruption, facilitating a clean and safe surrounding environment, and creating a seamless integration of new spaces and existing spaces is something we take pride in.
